Aggregate and its application

Aggregate is a kind of mixture of crushed stone, sand and gravel, which used to road,high way,bulilding,structustructures and anything g made from concrete require aggregate.
We always call aggregate by different size as following:
Coarse aggregate：
1. In asphalt mixture used, the coarse aggregate is more that 2.36mm crushed stone,crushed gravel,screened gravel and slag in diameter.
2. In cement concrete used, the coarse aggregate is more that 4.75mm crushed stone, gravel and crushed gravel in diameter.
Fine aggregate：
1. In asphalt mixture used, the fine aggregate is more that 2.36mm natural sand,manufactured sand(machine mechanical sand) and stone chip in diameter.
2. In cement concrete used, the fine aggregate is more that 4.75mm natural sand,manufactured sand in diameter.
Natural sand：
It is sharped by natural weathering,water scouring and less than 4.75mm in diameter.
Manufactured sand：
It is processed to fit standard fine aggregate requirement.Manufactred sand,slag sand,calcined sand all fall into this category.
Crushed sand：
Crushed stone and gravel is processed by sand making machine repeatly, and get manufactured sand in 2.36mm diameter,named crushed sand.
Crushed stone dust：
It is left at quarry stone crushing site that can pass through minimum screen mesh(it is usually 2.36mm or 4.75mm),which is called screenings.
There also has following called for aggregate by different rocks size..
Boulder: more that 10 inches(254mm)in diameter
Cobble: from 2.5 to 10 inches(64 to 254 mm) in diameter
Pebble: from 16 to 2.5 inches(4 to 64mm) in diameter
Granule: from 0.8 to 0.16 inches (2-4mm) in diameter
Grain: from 0.4 to 0.8 inches(1-20mm) in diameter
